Problem with the input current of dac7741

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC7741

I use a photocoupler to input digital signals into the DAC7741, how can I set the input current?

About 1mA or less than 10uA?

  • Xu,

I am a little confused by your question. Do you mean, should you set the input current to 1mA or less than 10 uA?

Setting the input current to 1mA would not damage the part. If you have the option though, set the input current to less than 10 uA.

Or do you mean, how can you set the input current of the photocoupler?

Setting the input current of the photocoupler may change from device to device. I am not sure what device you are using for the photocoupler (NPN or PNP) but you should be able to adjust the pull up resistor.

  • Hi, Tony Calabria,

I just wnat to know how to set the input current of DAC7741.

Now I could just set it to 1 mA in my design after reading your reply.

    Thanks for the help.
