TLC5540IPW - 5V INPUT RANGE?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLC5540

Hi all,

I have been using TLC5540IPW for analog input range of 0 to 2.5V with internal bias option in multiple projects.

but now i want to use it for 0 to 5V range, but could not.

I found in datasheet that by connecting the REFT to +5V and REFB to Gnd, TLC5540 shall work for analog input range of 0 to 5V.

"following para from Data sheet page12"

reference inputs . REFB, REFT, REFBS, REFTS
The range of analog inputs that can be converted are determined by REFB and REFT, REFT being the
maximum reference voltage and REFB being the minimum reference voltage. The TLC5540 is tested with
REFT = 2.6 V and REFB = 0.6 V producing a 2-V full-scale range. The TLC5540 can operate with
REFT . REFB = 5 V, but the power dissipation in the reference resistor increases significantly (93 mW
nominally). It is recommended that a 0.1 ìF capacitor be attached to REFB and REFT whether using externally
or internally generated voltages.

I have tested by attempting this but TLC5540 getting saturated by 2.6V(FF seen).I understand the input range is again restricted to 2.6V.

Pls. let me know how it can be configured to cover analog input range of 0 to 5V.

I expect 0V - 00, +5V - FF.

Circuit shared is appreciated.

thanks and Regards,

P Vinod Kumar.
