DAC101C081 Address Question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC101C081

Please could you advise how to interpret Table1. Slave Addresses for the DAC 101C081 (SOT23) version.

I have two devices on the bus (one floating and one GND) however interpreting the table I appear to get the value 1000110 for both situations.

Hence they both appear as 1C hex.

A clarification on this would be appreciated.

  • Hi Derek,

This table is confusing and will need to be updated.

To communicate with the device that has ADR0 floating you should use 0001100.  To communicate with the device that has ADR0 grounded you should use 0001101.

We have found that the DAC101C081 will try to acknowledge a communication using the address 1000110 when ADR0 is either floating or grounded.  What this means in practice is that if there are any other devices besides the DACs on the I2C bus they should not use the address 1000110, else when you try to communicate with that other device the DAC may try to communicate back.
