ADS131A04: Unipolar Analog supply ADS131A04

Part Number: ADS131A04

Hi,

I want to ask about Fig 111 ..page 81

I want to use ADS131 with AVss on GND        AVdd=5V            Vrefex= +5,000V                      IOVdd= 3.3V

I found for this case the example figure 111 wrong :   It should be  AVSS and VNCP  on Ground  and AVDD should be wired on +5V

correct?

best regards

zbyno

  • Zbyno,

You are correct. One of those diagrams should show a unipolar supply configuration. Thanks for letting us know. I will work to get that updated.

  • Hi Brain,

    1. Thank you fo your answer...

    2. Can ADS131A04 work with Fmod  4,8MHz?  With Fin = 19.2 MHz

I need to have Fdata .....100 kSmpl by OSR 48.. see table3 on page 22

    thanks

    zbyno

  • Zbyno,

    Yes that is possible. If you had a 19.2 MHz clock source, set CLK1 = 0x01 (fICLK = 9.6 MHz), CLK2 = 0x27 (fMOD = 4.8 MHz, Data rate = 100 kSPS).

In general, any combination of external clock frequencies in the range on page 7 with any clock divider/OSR combination determined in the CLK1 and CLK2 registers is allowable. There may be several ways to get a 100 kSPS data rate.

  • thank you Brian
will be then parameters of measurement with Fmod=4,8 MHz: I ask for : ENOB, noise etc worse than by Fmod=4,096 MHz? How much?
    best regards
    zbyno
  • Zbyno,

I don't have any data to provide, but I can tell you from my understanding of the design that the noise, dynamic range, ENOB, etc. will be very very close to what is listed for the OSR 48 data in Tables 1-4 in the datasheet.
