Hello all,

A student ask,

"I am working on a daq system to acquire radiation events using an fpga firmware. I'm looking for an adc satisfying following specs,

- An easy soldable package, I mean with external leads (no QFN or similar).

- I need at least two channels and a minimum rate of about 4-5Msps (or obviously more).

- I'm acquiring single ended signals ranging from 0 to 2.3-2.4 V.

I thought ADC12D040 was perfect form my purpose, having also a convenient parallel cmos output interface, but then I realized the 4V input range was only for differential signals"

Could anyone help me with this please ?

    I think these are single channel adc's. He wants minimum 2 channel.

    It will be difficult to meet all of the listed requirements.

    I haven't found any devices sampling at 4MSPS or higher which support single-ended inputs covering voltages down to 0V.

    It is possible to find ADCs with single-ended inputs that can sample as low as 0V input, but the maximum sample rate is 2 MSPS, and the devices are in WQFN packages. The ADS7947 is one such device.

    If we limit the search to the older style leaded packages then it is impossible to find products that have single ended inputs with the needed range and a reasonably high sample rate. The ADS7254 can sample at 1MSPS and is in TSSOP package.
