ADS1675REF and ADCPro

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADCPRO

I recently bought an ADS1675REF to evaluate it with some real world data.  I was hoping to collect several thousand triggered blocks of data up to about 1/2 second in length at the best resolution and speed possible.

Does anyone know if ADCPro can handle triggered data acquisition or would be sufficient for this?  (my first reading of the documentation suggests not).

If ADCPro won't manage this, it seems that writing some code using the Opal Kelly Front Panel SDK might work for triggered data acquisition.

Does anyone know if TI can provide the Front Panel software or SDK to interface with the Opal Kelly XEM3010 or the HDL modules for the ADS1675REF.  I did read one earlier thread on this,    http://e2e.ti.com/support/data_converters/precision_data_converters/f/73/p/48956/233606.aspx#233606 , but the question of obtaining the software still seems open.

Any suggestions are welcome.

  • (answering part of my own question)  Regarding the Opal Kelly FrontPanel software and SDK, Opal Kelly offered to grant "registered user" status on their support site to allow download of the software.

  • Hi Bob,

We are working with Opal Kelly to streamline this process (stay tuned for an updated ADS1675EVM plugin).  ADCpro in and of itself won't get you the data you seek as you've already surmised.  The Front Panel software won't get you there directly either unfortunately.  This may take a combined effort on your part of manipulating the VHDL from the ADS1675REF as well as the LabView VI from ADCPro, or creating something completely different via the OK Front Panel.  I believe you are already in contact with Opal Kelly on the FP software.  We'll send you the FPGA code we set up as this might prove useful to your application.

  • Thanks for the reply, Tom.  I would very much appreciate the FPGA code that is relevant for the ADS1675REF and pointers to any available documents or guidelines....I am just sitting down with the front panel software (I did receive this from Opal Kelly).
