ADS8638EVM-PDK: connections to the ADC chips HVDD and HVSS pins

Hello,

I am using the ADS8638EVM-PDK along with the MMB0 base-board for evaluation of the ADS8638.

Do I need to use a separate power supply to power the chips HVDD and HVSS pins? Looking at the schematics for MMB0, it looks to me like the HVDD and HVSS pins will only be powered if you connect an external power supply either to J9 or J14.

Please can you clarify.

Hi Nick,

You are right, the MMB0 does not actually provide the high voltage source needed for the ADS8638EVM, you can use the screw terminals at J14 and the HVDD/HVSS sources will 'pass through' to your ADS8638 EVM.
