AFE5812EVM: Issues Launching GUI

Part Number: AFE5812EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE5812

Hi,

I have recently purchased the AFE5812EVM and tried to download and launch the AFE5812EVM_GUI, but it keeps saying "Unable to locate the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine. AFE5812EVM_GUI requires a version 2010 (or compatible) LabVIEW Run-Time Engine. Please contact the vendor of AFE5812EVM_GUI to correct this problem". We have tried downloading LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 2010, but the error keeps popping up. We have also tried launching it in Windows 7 compatibility mode (we are running Windows 10), but the same LabVIEW message pops up every time.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Clayton

  • Hi Clayton,
    How are you?
Thank you for using AFE5812EVM with TSW1400EVM.
I will ask our team for your GUI concern whether it is due to Windows issue or not.
and will reply to you very soon.

    Thank you very much!

  • Hi Clayton,
    How are you?
Please make your PC running in Windows 7.
First, could you please check on your PC as following:
Control Panel -> All Control Panel Items -> Programs and Features ?
and then you may see all the programs on the list.
If you can see "AFE5812 EVM" already on the list,
please select it and click on "Uninstall"
    to uninstall this program.
And after it is done, please turn-off and then Re-Start your PC
    and using Windows 7,
after that, then you can re-install your new AFE5812 EVM GUI .

Hope this can help and it would work for you.
    Thank you!

    Best regards,
    Chen
  • Hi Chen,

That didn't help us. It turned out we were using the wrong LabVIEW Run-Time Engine. We needed to download the 2010, 32-bit version to be able to run the GUI. It launches on both Windows 7 and Windows 10.
