TSW14J56EVM: Cypress FX3 USB bootloader Device

Hi!

I have the exact problem with TSW14J56EVM (PCB REV E) as in the thread "TSW14J56EVM: Error while connecting to the board". I have checked the jumpers, power supply, re-installed, did not connect the board to the PC during or before the installation and re-installation . I have also tried another computer but it still doesn't appear a serial number to connect to in the GUI and the drivers name is "Cypress FX3 USB bootloader Device" every time. The only thing i haven't tried is to reprogramming the USB3.0. Do you suggest me to try that and where can I find the software? And if that doesn't work, might it be possible that my TSW14J56EVM can be defect?

Can you verify the following jumper settings:

JP11 pins 1-2

JP12 Open

JP13 pins 2-3

If these are correct, you can try to reprogram the Cypress device using the attached procedure and the GUI that can be downloaded from the link below, or request a replacement board.

Hi,

This is the default jumper settings (I haven't moved them) see picture. I have downloaded the software that you provided and will now try to reprogram the Cypress device according to the instructions in the attached file http://e2e.ti.com/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/73/0677.TSW14XX-USB3-SPI-Flash-Programmer-GUI-User-Guide.pdf . I will reply again when I have tried to reprogram the Cypress device.

Hi Jim,

I have now tried to reprogram the Cypress device according to the instructions but it didn't work. The program status doesn't show green and I suspect that the "Serial Number Programmed" is incorrect, see picture. How do I request for a replacement board?

You may find this format of information easier to guide you through a return for the TI Store.
