AFE4403EVM: Device Not Connected in GUI Simulation Mode only

Part Number: AFE4403EVM

I've followed all the steps for Windows 10 to install the proper USB driver, including a computer restart for unsigned driver mode and installing the most recent firmware update version 2.3. The device can be found for a few moments to update the firmware, but when opened in the GUI in general, there is "an error communicating with the device" resulting in simulation mode being the only option.

While connected to the laptop, the EVM power LED is on and the LED on the sensor board is on as well.

How can I get the device communicating with the computer?

Thanks!

  • Hi Anna,

    Welcome to e2e forum.

After installing the required driver, the EVM should be detected as "AFE44xx EVM (COMxx)". You can check this in device manager of your PC.

Also make sure that the assigned COM port number is greater than 25, if not you have to manually change it.

With this two suggestions, your EVM should be detected by the GUI.
