ADS114S08B: ADS114S08 : How to measure two 3-wire RTDs

Part Number: ADS114S08B

 Hi,

I have some doubts with the schematic design attached here.

1 : Is it correct the circuit design for two 3-wire RTDs with common Current source?

Anyone please help me to clarify my doubts.

  • Hi Sarath,

I don't see any issue with the schematic.  You can find more information in A Basic Guide to RTD Measurements on page 31 in section 2.10 which discusses multiple 3-wire RTD measurements.

Are you seeing issues with the measurement?  You must make sure that the IDAC compliance voltage is not exceeded.  It would appear that the 500 uA IDAC current would be the maximum allowable when using a reference resistor of 2.49k.  Also, the internal reference must be turned on to generate the IDAC current.

    Best regards,
