AFE4405EVM: Trouble detecting hardware

Part Number: AFE4405EVM

I am having trouble detecting the EVM on my Windows 10 PC after following the steps to install unsigned drivers. I can't update the firmware or use the EVM in the GUI. Please help

  • Hi Nurudeen,

Please share the error message you get when you start the GUI.

If it is a device communication error, one of the reasons could be that the GUI is not able to work for lower COM ports.

As outlined in section 9.5 of the user guide, change the com port to a higher number and check if the GUI works.

  • Thank you for your response,

It just says "Device Communication Error"

I have tried changing the COM port and it still didn't work. The EVM wasnt detected automatically under 'other devices' in the device manager when I plugged it in. I had to manually "add legacy hardware" from the action button on the top left in device manager for it to show up in PORTS(COM & LPT). To change the COM port number I changed the advanced settings in the properties, I tried multiple COM ports above 25 but the caution sign stays on and I cant communicate with the device
