DAC53401EVM: EVM No Longer Connecting

Part Number: DAC53401EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP432E401Y, , DAC53401, UNIFLASH

Hi DAC Team,

I am using the DAC53401EVM + DAC BOOST + MSP432E401Y in a customer demo. The firmware was successfully loaded to the MSP432 and the DAC output was working properly. As of this week, I am no longer able to connect the hardware on the GUI (error: no hardware detected).

I assumed there could have been a problem with the firmware so I reflashed the MSP432  - no change. I also ordered new DAC53401 and DAC boost - this did not fix the problem.

Any ideas where to start? I have ordered a new MSP432 but since I can write to it with Uniflash I am not sure that will help.

Thanks,

Reed

  • Hi,

I think most probable cause will be MSP432E401Y MCU Launchpad failure.

Lets wait for your new board to arrive and let me know if that doesn't work, I can look into this issue

  • Hi AK,

Well after playing around with it more, I determined it was a comm port problem. The below sentence from the user's guide cleared up my issue:

In case the Hardware not connected status persists even after the hardware is connected, go to Options → Serial Port, and change the port to the other available port with the (Texas Instruments) or ACCtrl tag.

    Thanks!
