ADS4129: ADS4129 input

Part Number: ADS4129

What happens if the input voltage value of ADS4129 is greater than the maximum allowed input value? Will it damage ADS4129?If there is no damage, what is the sampling value of ADS4129?Is  its maximum allowed input value?

  • The nominal full scale is 2Vpp.  At this level or beyond you will digitally clip the signal.  At a level of 2.2 Vpp or higher there is a potential to damage the inputs.

Digital clipping distorts the waveform and creates a large amount of harmonics.  The fundamental power will be close to full scale value so you can tell that you are at or above the maximum.  Typically the signal is kept at -1 dBFS or lower to ensure no digital clipping or damage.
