ADC08D1520RB: Install WaveVision5 driver

I couldn't install the ADC08D1520RB driver.

When turn power and connect board with PC, LD10 shines, but LD11 doesn't shine.

i thought USB connector was broken, so replaced the new connector. However did'nt solve

i use Windows 10. So i executed WaveVision5 application with compatible Windows7. But this also did'nt solve.

What is the cause?

Hi,

For the WV5 driver update, did you use these instructions a the link below?

0654.Disable Driver Signing Enforcement Windows 8 10.pdf

Once driver signing enforcement is disabled you need to install the driver using the "Installing Driver in Windows 7" section of the WaveVision 5 Software Driver Installation Guide. Using that procedure you browse to find the driver files in the \driver subfolder in the Wavevision5 software installation directory.

Dear Rob

Sorry for the late reply. I did'nt succeed n installing the driver on my PC Windows 10 system.

I installed WaveVision5 according to the procedure, but it does not recognize the ADC.

Even if the driver is updated in Device Manager, it is displayed as the latest and cannot be recognized ADC.

And I found the folder include BOM, FPGAsource,etc. of ADC08D1520RB. Does this folder relate?

Hi,

For the +12V power supply, what is the current rating that you are using? I would use something with 5A. Keep in mind the power is used to power the FPGA and ADC...as well as all the other circuitry on the EVM.

Please let me know.

Also, it might help if any LEDs on the EVM or any other indications on the EVM are displayed.

I use code with 5A.

Now, connect signal code to I-ch, don't input signal yet, just connecting.

Is the wiring correct?

Hi,

Sorry for the delay, The EVM setup looks okay.

I assume you are using the on-board EVM clock source for the ADC's sample clock, correct?

Please confirm the power supply is set to +12V.

Can you please confirm if you have followed the Disable Signing Enforcement steps and updated the driver? I have tested an ADC08D1520EVM myself and was able to successfully detect the board on WaveVision5 by following these instructions. If you have not completed the process the instructions are below. Also, what is the driver that you currently have installed for this device?

Another thing to note is that when you power up the board LD10 will turn on; however, LD11 only turns on when WaveVision5 successfully detected the board.

Sorry for the late reply.

I confirmed power supply and it was +12V.

When PC detects this borad, wiring what I need is just power supply and USB,OK?

First, I followed the Disable Signing Enforcement steps. Then, I cannot see the warning massage what in the page13, step10.

My system is Win10. After Disable driver signature enforcement, in page3,step4, is there what I need to do ?

Sorry, maybe I couldn't understand the step that install driver.

After step4, I connected PC with ADC, then the driver detected as the unknown USB device, and try to update the driver from device manager, but the driver was already updated latest.

Hi,

After following those steps please follow the Installing Driver in Windows 7 steps, section 3, in the WaveVision 5 Software Driver Installation Guide. This should allow you to update the driver.

I tried the steps, but it was disprayed that its latest.

I tried Disable Driver Signing Enforcement and Wavevision5 Software Driver Installation Guide's Win7 section, but cannot update driver, it displayed the driver is latest and in device manager, driver was shown as unknown USB device.

What is cause?

In correct condition, before connect USB, LD10 only turn light?

The cause is unknown, but PLL LD that near the EXT TRIGER lights up only once.

Now, only LD10 light up again.

Hi,

When you are updating the driver do you browse your computer and find the WaveVision 5 folder that contains the drivers?

This is a very important step to get the driver updated. Without the updated driver WaveVision5 will not be able to recognize the board.

Hi, sorry for late reply.

No matter how many times I try, it says that the best driver for this device is already installed.

When I used a different power supply, the PLL_LD flashed. Is this relevant?
