DAC11001A: Questions / Corrections for Data Sheet

Part Number: DAC11001A

I have read the DataSheet for DSC11001 and have noticed these areas:

On paragraph 10.1, on page 45the datasheet says " The DAC do not require any power sequencing."

It is better english to state " The DAC does not . . . . . . .".

The other item that I noticed is repeated on many of the schematics that follow Figure 74 on page 44.

The lower op amp provides a ground to the REF IC and as you can see on the marked up picture below, the output of the op amp should NOT be connected to GROUND.

So, in the picture above; break the line from the lowest op amp to GND.  The REF GND comes from the op amp and is based upon the voltage at AGND-OUT.  So, if the AGND is +5 mV, for example, then the GND pin of the REF IC should be +5 mV.  If the output of that op amp is grounded then the REF IC will always be 0 VDC and should change depending upon the voltage at AGND.

This grounding of an op amp output is repeated on several schematics that follow.

  • Hi,

I agree that better English is  "does not", but we are all technical person writing these, not English literature graduates :), so I hope you pardon us for this mistake.

Going forward, we will take better care in writing these documents.

I have clarified grounding scheme in other thread which you have opened .

    Regards,

    AK
