ADS8686S: Can ADS8686S be programming compatible with AD7616?

Part Number: ADS8686S

I want to replace AD7616 with ADS8686S to cost down for my grid application. In serial data communication mode, I wonder if I need to change my code when I change AD7616 to ADS8686S?
