DAC081C081: DAC081C081 and DAC081C085

Part Number: DAC081C081
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC081C085,

Hello,

Please tell me about the naming of DAC081C081 and DAC081C085.
I think 81 in the first half of the model number is 8bit 1channel, but what do 81 and 85 in the second half represent?

Best regards,
DDdoor

  • DDdoor,

I wouldn't read too much into the actual numbers used for the naming of the devices. There are three differences between the DAC081C081 and the DAC081C085:

DAC081C081: VA is used as the reference voltage, single address pin can be used for 3 I2C addresses, available in WSON6 and SOT6 packages.

DAC081C085: VREF pin can be used as external reference, two address pins can be used for 9 I2C addresses, available in VSSOP8 package.

These are 8-bit DACs, but there are devices that come in 10- and 12-bit versions.
