DAC60096: Maximum load current

Part Number: DAC60096

Hello Team,

My customer would like to know what is the maximum load current of the DAC60096 chip?

Thanks in advance

Regards,

_Renan

  • Hi Renan,

The DAC60096 is an unbuffered DAC output, meaning the resistor ladder is directly connected to the output pins.  This means that the load current is not limited by an output buffer amplifier, which generally dictates the maximum load current.  So this means that the output impedance is higher (typically 41kΩ) and slightly dependent on the output code.

So any current load will have the effect of changing the output voltage, as you would be skewing the resistor dividers inside the device.

    Thanks,

    Paul
