TSC2046E-Q1: Battery monitoring output

Part Number: TSC2046E-Q1

Hello team,

Could you please check the possible battery monitor ADC output range when VBAT is open?

From the customer's prototype measurement, it was from 24 - 36mV.

This information is needed to make sure if my customer's program works properly.

Regards,

Itoh

  • Hello Itoh,

It is difficult to comment over all scenarios what the input may read when the VBAT pin is left floating.  The specified operating range is 0.5V to 5.5V so an input of 0V (floating) is not in the specified range.

That said, if you look at Figure 7 with the VBAT pin open the bottom transistor is still on, but no current flows through it to put it into a fully saturated state.  Therefore we could estimate the drain will be roughly a weak VDS voltage above GND, which 24-36mV seems reasonable.
