TSW14J57EVM: Overcurrent on the 12V rail and low level instabilities

Part Number: TSW14J57EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC12DJ3200EVM

Dear All,

We experience low level instabilities with TSW14J57EVM + ADC12DJ3200EVM.

The current drain on the 12V rail rise above the specified 2A (up to 3.2A).

We never had a correct data capture only noise.

There are a lot of communications error (communication, low level register access, fifo access timeout).

This board just don't work.

Please send us RMA number

  • Chris,

Are you using 5V or 12V for the ADC12DJ3200EVM? This should be 5V. Your message sounds like you are having issues with both boards. Is this correct, or is it just the TSW14J57?

    Regards,

    Jim

  • Jim,

It just happens when both coupled.

My setup is correctly wired (12V on TSW14J57EVM and 5V on ADC12DJ3200EVM) as described.

When JESD207 is set up current drain on the 12V increase to max current of 3.2A, it is specified at max 2.0A.

I did not succeed to have a correct capture.

No correct FFT spectrum and lot of low level communication errors.

    Regards

    Chris

  • Chris,

If you bought this from a distributor, you will have to work with them to get a replacement. If you bought it from the TI Store, the following link has the details and a link to the form to start the return process.  Once you are on the returns and refunds page of the TI Store look for the hyperlink which says: TI store customer support form.

    Regards,

    Jim
