Hi Ibtesam,
The ADS1198 should not require a calibration.
Hello Ibtesam,
Thank you for your post.
The ADS1198 does not offer any internal calibration. However, if you're looking to calibrate the device or even the entire signal chain, the procedure to do so is generally the same for all ADCs. You can learn more about ADC transfer functions and calibration from our TI Precision Labs - ADCs training series.
Best regards,
Dear Andrew,
Thank you for the reply!
As per Alex Smith, ADS1198 does not require calibration. Could you please clarify if we really need to go for calibration?
Thanks and regards,
Ibtesam
Hi Ibtesam,
The ADS1198 itself does not require calibration. Depending on your system, calibration may be necessary to meet your accuracy goals.
Calibration is often helpful when the signal chain contains many passive components (depending on tolerance) and/or gain stages.
i.e. an operational amplifier using 10% tolerance resistors for feedback and gain would require a calibration to minimize the gain error created by resistor tolerance.
