DAC37J82: Configuration + NCO Mixer

Part Number: DAC37J82
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC38J82, DAC38J84

Hi,

I would like to know if I can configure the DAC37J82 for my use case:

JESD Lanes = 4

DAC Sampling frequency = 819.2MHz

For channel 0 and channel 1:
Input IQ signal DataRate = 409.6MHz (interpolation=2)
Input IQ signal actual Bandwidth = 96MHz
Output RF center frequency [70MHz - 160MHz] (ie actual signal would be at maximum between 70-96/2=22MHz and 160+96/2=208MHz).

1)Is this configuration achievable with DAC37J82 ?

2)Is there 2 independant NCO like the documentation says ?
"The DAC37J82/DAC38J82 has two full complex mixer (FMIX) blocks with independent Numerically Controlled Oscillators(NCO)".

Or just one and I won't be able to have different output center frequencies for channel 0 and channel 1 ?

Thanks

  • User,

The data sheet has some information copied over from the DAC38J84 which is a little confusing. Even though it shows a second NCO (CD), this is not available in the DAC37J82 family. There is only one NCO (AB) that you can use. The configuration values you show above is valid for this part. The max BW you can use is 327.68MHz.

    Regards,

    Jim
