In AMC7832 ,the ADC can take input voltages in the range -12.5V to 12.5V and it will convert this i/p voltage to digital by taking 2.5V reference .But the issue is how it will convert voltage in the range from -12.5V to 12.5V to 12 bit output?I want to know the conversion of voltage from -12.5V to 12.5V to 12 bit bianary form.

Hi Akshay,

The bipolar input channels are stored in straight binary. You can use the equation shown in section 8.3.2.1.1 of the AMC7832 datasheet to calculate the voltage for a given code.

To calculate the code based on the known voltage, you can use the equations:
CODE = (4096/5)((DACOUTPUT/5)+2.5)

Let me know if you have any more questions. In addition, section 8.3.2 goes into more detail of the ADC's operation.

sir,one more doubt i have..range of ADC of ADC7832 is 5 or 25?

The AMC7832 has twelve ADC channels with the +/-12.5V input range, denoted as "ADCn" pins in the datasheet. It also has five channels with a +5V input range, denoted as "LV_ADCn".
