Tool/software: Code Composer Studio
Hi,
I just downloaded the offline installer of CCS8.2.0. The problem with the hanging installer is still *NOT* resolved.
The whole installation process took about 70 minutes. Looking at the install logs, you can verify that the installer still tried to fetch some stuff over the network. After a timeout period of about 40 minutes the local installation continued. Somewhere at the end of the installation there’s been another period of hang.
Guys, when someone downloads an offline-installer, the install process should not access external sites over the network. Plain and simple.
After the long installation I tried downloading three versions of the code generation tools via CCS8.2.0. As before, the software downloaded the code generation tools and stored them at ccsv8\eclipse\downloads. A required restart of CCS8.2 triggered ccs_setup_8.2.0.00007.exe in the background to finish the installation.
But then, as before, nothing happened, the installer ccs_setup_8.2.0.00007.exe hangs in the background, again trying to access something across the network, taking about 40 minutes to install the code generation tools.
Also, as before, it only installs one of the three downloaded code generation tools. Registration and installation are still out of sync as before.
So, effectively, nothing has changed. The installer is still *NOT* working properly. The timeout periods have even increased, which leads to even longer installation times.
So, reinstalling CCS8.2.0 and the required code generation tools will require half a day. You must be kidding at TI, right?
Regards,
Flux.
