DLP9500：DLP9500: Severe scratches appear on the surface, which affects the use effect!

Part Number: DLP9500

I purchased 28PCS DLP9500BFLN and 3PCS DLP9000XBFLS from TI store on August 31, 2021; I received the product on September 6, 2021, and the inspection found that 1PCS DLP9500BFLN had severe scratches and 3PCS DLP9000XBFLS had snowflakes on the edges. See attached pictures for details . How to deal with it?

    Hello Xiaohong.

    Nice to meet you. With the image that you provided, the snowflakes look like landed edge of array mirrors. It would be good to have more close up images of what you are noticing on those DMDs.

    Also, have you powered on these three DMDs yet? 

    For the scratch on the one DMD, I will have to talk to our Quality team about that. Please provide an image of the back of the DMD and we can look into that.

    Hello Xiaohong,

    Another point to consider is that items on the DMD glass might not be visible in the application or projection. Please check if this is a permanent scratch or residue and then see if it is visible in the optical system.
