DLPDLCR2000EVM: or DLPDLCR230NPEVM: Deliver a video signal without a raspberry pi or a beagleboard black

Part Number: DLPDLCR2000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPDLCR230NPEVM

Hello,

We normally need a raspberry pi or a beaglebone black to send a video signal to the DLPDLCR2000EVM or the DLPDLCR230NPEVM. It is impossible to find either the beaglebone or the raspberry board nowadays. Is there an alternative? Can I use my laptop with the right connector somehow to emulate the board?

  • Hello User,

Welcome to the E2E forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology!

We do not have alternative host processors that has been validated for the DLPDLCR2000EVM or the DLPDLCR230NPEVM. However, these interfaces are well documented. The schematic for the DLP230NPEVM can be found on the TIDA-080009 page. The schematic for the DLP2000EVM can be found on the TIDA-07473 page. These designs show the routing in for the parallel data, SPI, and additional signals that are needed to control the EVMs. Though the work would be non-trivial, hardware and software could be developed to interface with the EVMs with your laptop. TI will not, however, be able to support your development of these tools.

Though there are alternatives, the suggested method would be to acquire a BeagleBone or Raspberry Pi despite the difficulties in doing so at the moment.

    Regards,

    Austin
