Hi Experts,

A customer has met a problem with the NIRscan_nano software.

The customer drawn a ring.bin code and uploaded it, however, they didn't realize that the rectangle size(width and height code) was beyond the limitation, after uploading it, the system showed" EVM not connected" and "Version Mismatch", and then the whole system not responding. they have tried to use" boot loader mode" but not working. The system is not responding and cannot upload previous software(code). Also they had tried to plug in and out the USB, every time the USB,is plugged the whole system is stuck and not responding.

Is there any solution to solve this or is the device completely dead?

Welcome back to the E2E forum!

It sounds as though the data may have been corrupted on the EVM. There may be a method to correct this, but the team will need to discuss.

Please allow us until the end of next week to devise a plan.

Marvin,

Press and holding the scan button on the EVM while the unit is powered up or reset to enter into bootloader mode and try to update the TIVA firmware with “Tiva Flash is empty/erased” flag checked. Hi Akhil,

Thanks for the help. However, the customer already tried this method but it does not work. The software is still not responding and they are unable to update TIVA.

Could this mean that the board is dead?

Hello Marvin,

This does not necessarily mean that the board is dead.

Is there any activity on the board LED's when power is connected? What is the status of D1 and D2?

Hi Austin,

Here's additional information:

The customer tried connecting the device again and the D1 won't light up this time.

They also tried to use a different computer but the indicator of the DLP NIRscan Nano GUI device status doesn't light on, sometimes the TIVA and Scan will on but the update processing will stop at 10% and then not respond. In addition, it shows the 'Version mismatch' window, the TIVA SW, DLPC FW, SPECTRUM LIBRARY, EEPROM CAL, and REFERENCE CAL are all mismatched, but EEPROM CFG is good.

Hi Marvin,

Could you please confirm what is the evm that you are using? Is it NIR Scan EVM or DLP NIR Scan NANO EVM.

Note that these two EVMs are based on different chipsets. The pic you have attached it seems to be NIR Scan EVM. Please refer to Section C reprogramming procedure in NIR scan EVM User guide.

Please use the corresponding tools of the evm available on ti.com and do not use the other evm tools since they are based on completely different chipset.

Hi Akhil,

Here is the picture of the customer's board:

The customer separated it because their lab only use a part of it, and it’s working before,.

In the image below you can see when it stuck at 10%, the scan LED is on and the power is on.

It looks like they are using DLP NIR Scan NANO EVM.

Hi Vivek,

Is there any update? I have further information from the customer.

After trying Bluetooth and bootloader mode, we think that maybe some part of the driver is not working. The USB can connect but does not respond. Also, Bluetooth does not connect and shows an error, which we have not used before. So we are now trying to use UART, which we think might be useful for communication with DLP.

I am hoping for your response.

Hello Marvin,

Looks like image got corrupted. Please try to update the TIVA firmare as per instruciton in section K.3 of User's guide and also section K.5 for more details on version mismatch.
