DLP3030Q1EVM: How do I get maximum power?

Part Number: DLP3030Q1EVM

We have received a DLP3030Q1EVM circuit board. I used a software(DLPC120 Autotive Control Program 1.4.2.58) to adjust it, but now the total power is only 2.88(W)(0.24A  X  12V).I want to know how I can use this software(DLPC120 Autotive Control Program 1.4.2.58) to get the maximum power?

  • Hi Mr. Wang,

If you set the EVM to max brightness and with a white image you should see the maximum power based on the calibration data loaded.

You can set the max brightness using the following steps and entering 65535 into the backlight entry field and press set.

You can set a white image by doing the following steps and setting the test pattern to all white.

In the user guide for the DLP3030q1evm you can see the following power specifications.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Alex Chan,

In the document, the maximum power displayed is 13.9W. How can I reach its maximum power (13.9W)? Is it the brightest when it reaches maximum power?

    Thanks,

    Mr. Wang

  • Hi Mr.Wang,

Did you see my previous response? When you set the system to a full white test image and set the backlight value to 65535 what is the maximum power draw you are seeing from the system?

Maximum power can also depend on how well optimized the calibration routine was and the calibration data that was flashed onto the system.

It can also depend on the LEDs used. For example that specification for 13.9W was with a system using OSRAM Q8 LEDs. If you use other LEDs, that can affect the maximum power of your system.

    Thanks,

    Alex Chan
