DLPC3433: How do we get a firmware load with safe default values?

Part Number: DLPC3433
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP3010

We are trying to design a system that uses a DLPC3433CZVB, DLPA2005ERSLT, and DLP3010.

In order to set the thing up, we had to download firmware from TI.

There appears to be no ability to customize any parameters aside from basic component choices.

We also have several of the EVM-3010 kits.  When I look at the GUI that comes with them,
there are several options for setting default parameters in the firmware load.

How do we get that ability for our device?

I have had two incidents where we nearly set a projector on fire because the default current levels
in the system are way too high.  As a matter of expense and safety, we really need to find fix this.
I am aware that we can jump through some hoops and limit the supply in hardware, but that seems
pretty silly when we should easily be able to do this in the configuration file.

Is there some tool that we are missing?
Can I somehow get the EVM GUI to create a load for my device?

  • Hello User,

Welcome to the E2E forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology!

After testing the GUI for the typical means of altering firmware images, I am finding that there may be a bug in the software.
