Hi Team,

I would like to confirm a few details that I found from these threads: 3010EVM, 3010evm-g2, and 2000evm

DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2 can also support 120Hz framerates out of the box - does this also support 4225 hz binary patterns?

The DLPDLCR2010EVM supports up to 240 Hz - does this support 4225 hz binary patterns?

    Hello Marvin,

    The EVMs that were listed will not have the same ability to support binary patterns as the DLPLCR4500EVM. That is more of a light control use case that display chipsets can't support.

    Hello Marvin,

    1.) Lets define what you mean by binary pattern so we have a common understanding. Are we just defining a binary pattern as 1-bit monochromatic content?

    2.) The light control chipsets have a specific feature that allows for that higher 1-bit monochrome patterning rate. This is shown in the DLPC3470/78/79 datasheet under 1-bit monochrome.

    3.) The EVMs you listed are not a part of the light control chipsets. You can send or store monochromatic content to the listed EVMs but the content either be stored as a splash screen or would need to be sent via the HDMI port. It will be limited to the display rates that you listed before though.

    Yes, 1-bit monochrome is what the customer is referring to and thank you for suggesting DLPC3470/78/79. I will check this.

    Do we have projectors are newer than the 4500 that also supports this?

    Hello Marvin,

    The DLP3010EVM-LC and DLP4710EVM-LC are newer than the DLPLCR4500EVM and allow for light control. The capabilities will vary between controllers.

    The DLPC3478 is for the DLP3010EVM-LC. The DLPC3479 is for the DLP4710EVM-LC.
