When developing with the DLPDLCR230NPEVM, the question may arise as to which host processor should be used. While multiple low end processor options can work for the 230NPEVM, Texas Instruments recommends a Raspberry Pi 4B. The Raspberry Pi 4B is a powerful, inexpensive, and accessible micro-processor with a pinout that aligns perfectly with that of the DLPDLCR230NPEVM.
Texas Instruments provides support for the Raspberry Pi 4B. This support includes a getting started guide in the DLP® LightCrafter Display 230NP EVM User's Guide (Rev. A), as well as a Raspberry Pi Python support package available on the EVM's product page.
The development for other processors will need to account for the hardware development to interface with the 40 pin GPIO connector, the development of software, and any necessary initialization process. Though the support packages available to the Raspberry Pi 4B can be used as an example for development, assistance with these efforts is outside of Texas Instruments' support.
