There should be a section 5 called flash image update where you can make changes or modify the flash image. There should be various start up settings you can modify.

Where is the setting for adjusting the duty cycle of the current in this tool? I only see the read duty cycle of the current in this tool and there is no setting command written in? Please provide support

You can download the default image file from here:

The splash update and auto-init are optional modifications and may not require inputting anything. You can try just changing the duty cycles and updating the flash and see if that works.

It seems like the normal GUI 7.4 tool feature to update the flash has some issue or bug and the software team is working on a fix.

What duty cycle or settings are you looking to upload are they the same as the above images? I will try to look into a secondary method to provide you an image file with the duty cycles or settings you are looking for.

Again, the update flash image feature in the GUI may not be fully working. Even though there is an error message, I believe the image file is still generated. I was able to see an image file generated for me despite the error message. Please check the output image path and you can try to download that image and see if it works or has correct functionality. 

If not, please provide the exact settings you want to change or setup and I can attempt to use a TI internal tool to try to create an image file for you.

Please try using the other version in the GUI to update the flash image.

But when I go to that same path and look for the image file, in my case "test2.img", it was succesfully generated:

Check to see if the changes you made are applied with that new image if not, please send me the exact settings you want to change and I can try creating a new image for you using a TI internal tool. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The two documents in the attachment below

1. The first document is to change the duty cycle according to the latest firmware on the download website you mentioned earlier, but the update failed

2. Backup the firmware in EVM to change the duty cycle, indicating an output image error, but it can be updated. After the update, the duty cycle read by the tool remains unchanged. In other words, changing the duty cycle was unsuccessful

Above, please engineers can identify the problem as soon as possible or provide another method to change the 3310EVM duty cycle. The experiment has been delayed too long!!

We have noticed that there are some issues in the GUI -> Update Flash image tool and our team is working on fixing these issues.

Can you provide the exact settings that you want to change in the custom .img file? Do you want only change the RGB duty cycle as R:50; G:20; B:30? As the GUI mentioned, "duty cycle for R, G, and B should be with in 25% to 51% range". Once you provide the exact settings, our engineer can help to provide the custom .img file. 

When you have the custom. img file, please try using DLPDLC-GUI to upload the .img to the EVM. Please note that there are the following duty cycle limitations so I did not add the last two duty cycle combinations you had.

I am working on creating a new image file with the following duty cycles. 

Group 1: R: 30, G: 40, B: 30

Group 2: R: 40, G: 30, B: 30

What is a good email for you? Please create a TI account with that email and I can share you the new image file through a TI secure file share.

There is one method of flashing firmware onto the EVM that is currently working due to pending maintenance on the GUI. You will need to follow this thread and acquire the necessary hardware to perform.

I have created a new firmware where the look numbers will correlate to the order you had sent. For example look 0 will be Group 1: R: 30, G: 40, B: 30. You can use the advanced mode of the GUI to go to the look tab and set which look you want to use with the look select register.

You can then scroll down and read the specific duty cycles for each look to see the changes.

Please also note due to limited engineering resources, this is not normal to provide customer specific firmware requests and any future requests may have to be delayed until the GUI is updated. Thank you for your understanding.

Yes that is correct, we can only create a disc image file perhaps there is a method to convert that to a binary file I am not sure.

Yes that is correct except the looks are zero index so see the following:

Look 0: R: 30, G: 40, B: 30

Look 1: R: 40, G: 25, B: 35

Look 2: R: 35, G: 25, B: 40

Look 3: R: 25, G: 30, B: 45

The xml file does not contain the firmware file, the xml file is only used for the flash center gui setup. 

You should have received an email similar to this about a TI mysecure temp download 4 folder where you can download the new firmware file. It may be in another language. 

In the flash center gui you will upload the firmware file image. You may need to select the file type as binary file to add an image. 

Once loaded correctly, you will see the data generated and then click the erase program verify button on the top toolbar.
