DLP3020-Q1: comparing to DLP3030-Q1/DLP5532-Q1, what's differences among them on luminance/projection distance/screen size for in-vehicle usage

Part Number: DLP3020-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP3030-Q1, DLP5532-Q1

DLP3020-Q1, DLP3030-Q1 and DLP5532-Q1 recommended by your company as the interior projection solutions

Subject to the application scenario in the car, can the minimum projection screen be 10 to 15inches, and consider that the projection distance could only be 10 to 20cm?

If not, what are the minimum possible parameters in this regard?

Considering the end customer application during the day, how much difference will the brightness of the projection under strong light be compared with the current instrument and central control panel? Even better? (Because if it indeed has practical applications, it should partially or even completely replace current instrument's and central control panel's functions)

  • Hello User,

Welcome to the E2E forums and we hope to assist you with your questions.

For an interior projection solution we would recommend the DLP5532-Q1 since it is brighter than the DLP3020/DLP3030.

Is this the application you are having in mind? https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/dlpa129

For questions on projection screen size and distance, those would best be answered by an optical module/engine manufacturer.

We provide the electronics and reference designs that would interface with the optical engine. Here is the electronics design with the DLP5532-Q1: https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/dlpu108
