DLPDLCR3310EVM: DLPDLCR3310EVM-

Part Number: DLPDLCR3310EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP3310, DLPA3000, DLPC3437

I am looking to use a the DLPDLCR3310EVM to do some images but I want to use my own light source, so I am considering to complitly desconect the DLPA3000 PMIC/LED and only use the DLP3310 DMD long with the DLPC3437 display controller. Will this work?

  • Hello User,

Welcome back to the E2E forums and we hope to assist you with your questions.

This will be a challenging endeavor and we do not have any official designs with the DLPA3000 removed from the DLPDLCR3310EVM.

You cannot completely disconnect the DLPA3000 PMIC as this powers the DLPC3437 and DLP3310 and there are checks from the DLPC3437 that it is powered up from the DLPA3000 PMIC. You can leave the DLPA3000 PMIC to power up the DLPC3437 and DLP3310 but disconnect the DLPA3000 PMIC from driving the light source and drive the light source load with your own power source.

You also will need to pull the LED select lines from the DLPC3437 that are originally going to the DLPA3000 and instead route the LED_SEL lines to your new light source driver.

    Regards,

    Alex Chan
