Dear TI Support Team,
I hope this email finds you well. My name is Raveesh, and I am reaching out to seek assistance with the setup of the DLPDLCR2000EVM with a Raspberry Pi 4. I have attempted to follow the instructions provided in the tutorial available at e2e.ti.com/.../linux-dlpdlcr2000evm-integration-of-raspberry-pi-video but unfortunately encountered issues.
I initially referred to the pinout information for the Raspberry Pi 4 from https://pinout.xyz/pinout/dpi, which led to further complications. Subsequently, I explored www.mickmake.com/.../ for alternative setup procedures, but these attempts were also unsuccessful.
Upon investigation, I discovered that the pinout of the Raspberry Pi 4 is different from the information provided in the tutorials. To set up the DLPDLCR2000EVM with the Raspberry Pi 4, it seems necessary to start the configuration from scratch.
I am seeking your support in resolving these issues and kindly request any guidance, tutorials, or resources that can assist me in successfully setting up the DLPDLCR2000EVM with the Raspberry Pi 4. Your expertise and assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
I am looking forward to your response and appreciate your prompt attention to this matter.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Best regards,
Raveesh Bhat
Hello Raveesh Bhat,
You observation is correct. TO interface with Raspberry Pi 4 we have to remap the pins. Could you please your mapping in similar format as listed in tutorial? We will review it and provide you feedback.
regards,
Vivek
Hello Vivek
In my attempts to configure the GPIO pins, I referred to the tutorials available at the following links:
https://www.mickmake.com/products/piprojector-1-x-series-documentation/
However, I encountered a discrepancy in the pinout information provided in these tutorials. It appears that the documentation follows an older format of pinout, and the GPIO pin configuration for the Raspberry Pi 4 is different.
To align with the new pinout format for Raspberry Pi 4, I have referred to the updated documentation available at
https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentation/computers/raspberry-pi.html
regards,
Raveesh
Hello Raveesh,
Thank you for this input. Please allow us until the end of the week to consider a response.

Austin
Hello Raveesh,
Have you been able to successfully wire your EVM to your RPi4 with the 27 required connections? Additionally, have you been able to verify that your EVM boots correctly even when not connected to the RPi?
Best,
Maxine
Hello Maxine,
Yes, I am able to wire the EVM to RPI4 with 27 required connections successfully, and also the EVM boots correctly when not connected to RPI.
As I mentioned above the pinout of RPi4 was changed in the year 2019, this was the old pinout
and this is the new pinout

Thank you for your precious time, I await your further assistance.

Raveesh Bhat
Hello Raveesh,
Can you share with us your RPi4 to EVM wiring diagram? We will give you feedback and suggestions about your pinout.
Bet,
Maxine
Hello Maxine,
This is the wiring diagram I referred to connect my RPI4 with EVM
Expecting your response soon,
Best,
Raveesh Bhat
Hello Austin,
It's been a week since we stopped working, The EVM played an important role in our project,
We are eagerly waiting for your assistance.
Thank you, I am Waiting for your response,
Regards,
Raveesh Bhat
Hello Raveesh,
As we are focused primarily on providing support for the TI EVM, we are limited in providing support for external hardware such as the Raspberry Pi. However, we are happy to assist you further. The next step you will need to take is to map in software the Video Out functions to GPIO pins on the RPi4. The diagram you referenced in the comment above is routed for the RPi Zero and is likely a different pin mapping. Reach out to the RaspberryPi forum if you need assistance with this step.
I have provided you a spreadsheet template to complete with empty positions for GPIO labels in pink; your output pins should be placed there. Once you have mapped all of your pins we will review it together.
Best,
Maxine
Hello Raveesh,
Do you have any more questions regarding the DLP2000? Were you able to route the pinout for your RPi4?
Best,
Maxine
Hello Raveesh,
As it seems you do have any more questions at this time, I will now close the thread and mark this ticket as resolved. Feel free to create a new thread if you have any new questions or concerns. Thank you!
Best,
