DLPC3470: DLPC3470 v9.0.1 Firmware for DMD Pin Mapping Option #4

Part Number: DLPC3470
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPA2005, DLP2010LC

Hello,

We have a set of custom boards that include the DLPC3470, DLPA2005, and the DLP2010LC. For this design, we selected DMD routing option #4 from section 7.3.10.1 of the DLPC3470 datasheet. When we initially downloaded firmware for the DLPC3470, via the DLP Pico FW Selector, we downloaded firmware version v8.1.0 for pin mapping option #4. I believe this would have been around August of last year.

When I returned to DLP Pico FW Selector to check for updated firmware, I found that options #3 and #4 were missing from the drop-down menu for the latest firmware version, v9.0.1:

The release notes for v9.0.1 include a line calling out support for options #1 and #2 only. Furthermore, if I look at the release notes for the option #4 v8.1.0 image we downloaded last year, I see the same note calling out support just for pin mapping options #1 and #2:

And yet the v8.1.0 firmware worked for our hardware, which suggests the pin mapping was indeed correct and this release note line may be in error. My questions, then, are:

  1. Why do both firmware versions' release notes call out support only for DMD pin mapping options #1 and #2?
  2. Is DMD pin mapping option #4 still supported?
  3. Where can we download the latest firmware for DMD pin mapping #4, assuming the answer to the previous question is "Yes"

Thanks!

Matt
