Dear Members 

1)  How is the white color created in test pattern mode?   

    It doesn't seem like the R/G/B LEDs are turned on simultaneously; does it operate the same way as the Internal Pattern Mode R/G/B?

    PMIC cannot turn R/G/B on at the same time, so how is the test point white color created?

   It seems that the same quality of white color cannot be achieved in Internal Pattern Mode.

   Can the test pattern white color be achieved in internal mode without exposure time limitations?

   

2) Where can be get the user manual for Advanced mode of TI GUI Tool?

    Hello Kim,

    The R/G/B LEDs are never on at the same time, the white color comes from your eye integrating the colors. The target white point for test pattern mode comes from your set look, however internal pattern mode disables all image processing. In order to adjust your white point for internal pattern mode you will need to adjust your LED currents first.

    Section 4.6 of the EVM GUI guide discusses the advanced mode. (link)

    [KES] I known that PMIC can't enble R/G/B at the same time under test pattern of TI , internal & external pattern mode , Splash and HDMI input. 

             There are no prodcuts  that can turn on R/G/B LED at the same time including DLPC3010 and DLPC4710. 

              Is that Correct?

    [KES] Can I get the detailed information related to test patter proejction such as image processing , exposure time? 

    3. Is that possible the configuration / design / operation to on R/G/B LED at the same time as below? 

       [Case1] - DLPC3479 x 2 +  DLPA300x x 3 + DLPC471010 

    4. Can I turn on R/G/B LED at the same time after adding the extenal control hardware ?

    Unfortunately, currently we do not offer an alternative to drive the RGB LEDs simultaneously with the DLP3010/DLP4710. The test pattern mode is a 60Hz pattern, the white point depends on the look selected a typical look will contain "Cool" look will have a duty cycle similar to ~50% green, 24% Blue, 26% red, you may get a similar white point running internal pattern mode by adjusting your patterns accordingly. Does your application require only white light? If so another alternative would be to replace one of the LEDs in your optical engine with a white LED, in which case you would want to use the "Red LED only" firmware in the TI DLP Pico Firmware Selector Tool.

    Currently, I'm using Internal mode temporarily. Can I use the same method in External mode for as well?

    Yes you may get your desired white point by adjusting the currents of each LED  for any of the light control modes.
