DLP4710: DLP4710 connect HMDI video displayed abnormity

Hello,TI Team!

Our company uses DLP4710 DMD to develop optical engine,we use DLP4710 EVM Gen2 schematic ,and designed a new PCB board;

but now ,we are finding some problems in testing,that is when connect HDMI vedio from PC or TV Video box, the screen display is abnormity,just like photos showed below:

it seems vedio does not displayed the correct colors properly. But when use Splash picture，the projection is displayed correct.

so ,I want to know,what might be the cause of this phenomenon? And may you have some tips for solving the problems?

Hello Jianyong,

I would recommend making sure the PC is sending video properly to the projector over HDMI. I would also check you aren't changing any image settings before going into external video mode(or after). Things like the look selected, gamma curve, etc.

Hi，Maximus.We test projector used 4710 EVM G2 Board ,it is ok,and our software engineer used same EDID in HDMI flash on board. Our board was tested in the same experimental environment. As to whether there are any changes in the software,let us to check on it again.

Hi Jianyong,

You may also want to try reflashing the firmware to the latest firmware found at the TI DLP Pico Firmware Selector Tool. Please feel free to respond or start a new thread if you continue to have any issues.

Hello Jianyong,

Could you please take an image from your computer and compare how it looks when using external pattern mode vs when you upload that same image as a splash image in the firmware? Please let me know if you still see a difference in picture quality.

Hi，Maximus，whether image or vedio from PC,the projector displayed abnomity,but internal splash image is always ok. We would test as you said again,and our sofrware engineer will give you the feedback. they may pose a new question in the forum.

Are you seeing this on the entire screen or just half? You previous pictures look like the two halves have a distinct difference down the middle. Here is my current suggestion:

Test multiple different content types- still images and videos
- Do you see the issue across all of these content?
Take a still image that you see the issue with and upload it as an RGB splash screen
- Do you still see the same behavior when image is a splash screen?

Hi,Maximus,our engineer tested again，and find it was a clock routing signal problem on the PCB board.

They are testing continuously,If there are any other questions,we will consult you again.
