DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2: DLP module with zero offset

Hi Experts,

We have queries about DLPDLCR3010EVM.

Background: The earliest DLPDLCR3010EVM had 0% image offset (i.e., the DLP was centered on the optical axis of the evaluation board optical setup. Later, this was changed, even though the module retain the same part number (input power also changed from 5 V to 19V). The current version, DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2, also has 100% offset.
Question: Is there a DLP evaluation module with 0% offset, whether using the 3010 DLP or other DLP?

Regards,
Archie A.

  • Hello Archie,

I don't believe that we have an DLP EVM with optical engine offset as 0%.

Is there a reason that you or customer have to use a 0% offset EVM?

    Regards,

    Lori

  • Hello Lori,

    Thank you for responding.

It's sad that there is no such device offset. Here's the customer response:

"If you want to use a EVM as part of an optical instrument (as we do), the offset is a major problem, as most optical applications do require center symmetry. By only making EVMs with 100% offset, this severely restricting their potential applications."

  • Hello Archie,

The EVM is used for evaluation only, customers can re-design their optical engine to achieve the 0% offset for their end applications. For instant, they can modify or move the projection lens to DMD center, but please note that the current mechanics of the optical engine with the EVM cannot move projection lens, you will need to re-design your own optical engine.
