DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2: DLP3433

Part Number: DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2

Tool/software:

I have two issues. One is the projector won't turn on, I can use DLP Light Crafter Display GUI version 7.4 to read/write I2C fine. But no light projected.

The second problem is when I connect the board to my PC, CCS Theia 1.0.0 doesn't recognize the board.

Thanks,

Jessie

  • Hello Jessie Teng,

Welcome to the E2E forums and thank you for your interest in DLP technology. We hope to assist you with your questions.

    Please check the following:

Can you double check your power supply is as follows:

    External Power Supply Requirements:

    • Nominal Output Voltage: 19 VDC

    • Minimum Output Current: 2.5 A; Max Output Current: 4.74 A

Can you also check the following LEDs are powered up.

The P5V_VIN (D9) and P3P3V_SB (D10) LED will turn on to indicate that 5-V and 3.3-V standby power is applied.

Move SW2 switch to the ON position to turn on the DLP LightCrafter Display 3010 EVM-G2. When the DLP LightCrafter Display 3010 EVM-G2 is turned on, the PROJ_ON LED (D4) will turn on.

    Regards,

    Alex Chan

  • Hi Alex,

I'm using the same suggested mean well power supply witch is 19VDC/4.74A/90W. The LEDS D9/D10 are both on correctly. But when I switch SW2 to on, the PROJ_ON LED(D4) turns on but there is no projection. I did reflash the firmware many times, no difference.

    Thanks,

    Jessie

  • Hello Jessie,

    Thanks for the information.

Has this EVM worked in the past and was able to display an image on the wall previously or is this the first time you are powering it up and encountered this issue?

Have there been any hardware modifications made to the EVM?

    Regards,

    Alex Chan

  • Hi Alex,

This is the first time using the board. No hardware modifications were made.

    Thanks,

    Jessie

  • Hello Jessie,

    Thanks for the information.

Could you please try to check two things.

1.) Please check the DMD voltages which are Vofs, Vbias, Vreset

2.) Please check the LEDs and see if you see any current or voltage.

You can find the following schematic in the reference design here:

    Regards,

    Alex Chan

  • Hi Alex,

    Here are the measurements:

    Vofs 9.97V   Vbias 17.93V   Vreset 14.37V

LEDs are measuring 0V for Anode and .04V for Cathode

    Thanks,

    Jessie

  • Hello Jessie,

Thank you for the information! It seems like you got DMD voltages powered up but not LEDs.

How recently did you purchase this EVM? Also did you ensure when you tried reprogramming the flash that SW2 was in the off position?

Can you please confirm the firmware version you are using? We will need to discuss the issue with team and get back to you by the middle of next week.

    Regards,

    Lori

  • Hi Lori,

The EVM was purchased sometime last year.

I programmed the flash multiple times successfully and SW2 was in the off position. When turning on the SW2, the projection LED was measured.

    Firmware version is 7.3.3.

    Thanks,

    Jessie

  • Hi Jessie,

Can you please try to re-flash the EVM with latest firmware version 7.4.3 which is available on the Firmware Selector Tool?

We need to discuss the issue and get back to you by the middle of next week.

    Regards,

    Lori

  • Hi Lori,

I tried our second DLPDLCR3010-G2 board and the projector is working fine with firmware version 7.3.3. At this point, it looks like the first board's projector issue is a hardware problem. Is it possible to get it exchanged or repaired?

    Thanks,

    Jessie

  • Hi Jessie,

Unfortunately, we do not offer exchange or repair. The EVM has 90 days warranty, but it seems like you are out of the warranty time frame if you bought it last year.

    Regards,

    Lori

  • Thanks for letting me know Lori.
