DLP2021-Q1: DLP2021AFQUQ1

Part Number: DLP2021-Q1

Tool/software:

I would like to ask if DLP2021 has multiple package models, as shown in the following figure. If there are multiple model options, which one is recommended?

  • Hi Kerwin,

The images you show on the left are not the DLP2021-Q1 DMD. This is another DMD. May I know where you found this? This looks like something off of LCSC distributor that has been mislabeled?

The image on the right is the correct DMD and only comes in the S249 package I have previously mentioned in this thread about how to interface the DLP2021-Q1 to a PCB.  It looks like that is the image from our TI product page.

  • yes ,you are right . I have another question now.The DLP2021-Q1 process does not require reflow soldering and is surface mount on the PCB. Then, how is the DLP2021 assembled with the PCB? Is a structure (two-sided contacts) needed between the DLP2021 and the PCB to electrically connect them?

  • Hi Kerwin,

I've attempted to answer this question and have already linked it above as an embedded link.  Here it is again.  The BOM should tell you what you need as well as the exploded assembly I posted in the linked thread asking about assembly of an S249 DMD package.  I will edit my text above to change the link to the color blue as I have done here as well for other users to see if they have the same question in the future.

I am going to close this thread because the original question of whether or not there is more than a single package type for the DLP2021-Q1 has been answered (only one package type exists).   If you have additional questions, you can ask another E2E question, or we can continue in the other thread if you have more questions about it.  I'm happy to help!

    Regards,
