Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC4422
Hi team,
Could you tell me what kind of control method can be use for motor driver of DLPA100 as Trap (120°, 150°), Sin (180°), FOC?

Yoshi

Hello Yoshi,
Thank you for using the DLP E2E forums.
The DLPA100 is part of a chipset that also includes the DLPC4422 and a DLP DMD. Control interface between the DLPA100 and the DLPC4422 is SPI.
Page 16 of the datasheet gives further information of the motor drive system.

Oscar
Hi Oscar,
Thanks for your comment.
I'm asking the control mode of this device.
To choose the motor type, the customer would like to know what is the control mode does this device has such as sinusoidal or trapezoidal (120°or 150°).
I didn't find this information from the datasheet.
Regards,
Yoshi
Hi Yoshi,
The DLPA100 will most efficiently drive a 3 phase motor with a trapezoidal BEMF curve (BLDC motor).

Gabriel
Hi Gabriel,
Thanks for your comment.
It means 120 electrical degrees wide. Is my understanding correct?
Also, is it possible to change the control method to sinusoidal?
Regards,
Yoshi
Yoshi,
Yes, that is correct. I do not believe the motor controller can be programmed to do sinusoidal commutation, but I will verify and get back to you. In general a PMSM motor can be controlled via trapezoidal commutation, but with undesirable effects.

Gabriel
Yoshi,
The controller commutation method is fixed, trapezoidal 120 degrees.

Gabriel
