Hi DLP Team,

Good day and hope you are doing fine. How can we check if a DMD device is military-grade? Our customer is looking for a military version of DLP6500FYE which they intend to use for a military/aerospace application. We have looked at DLP6500FLQ but we haven't seen any military qualification of the device aside from being in hermetic package. Can we recommend this device to our customer? Otherwise, would really appreciate your guidance on pointing out the closest military-grade DMD they can consider.

Hi Jejomar,

We do not qualify any of our products for military or space use, so there is not a military version of DLP5600FYE. For 1080p resolution the best part would be the DLP6500FLQ since it has hermetic packaging as you saw. There are automotive qualified DMDs, but not in 1080p resolution. I would still recommend the DLP6500FLQ, but it would be up to the customer to determine reliability under operating conditions that lie outside the recommended operating conditions and storage conditions in the datasheet, and adapt the DMD to the application if necessary.
