Is it possible to control DLP LightCrafter using C++ or LabVIEW?

(1) Is there sample code for C++ or LabVIEW that I can download?

Yes, The API Sample code is available for windows and Linux operating systems. Download the DLP LightCrafter Firmware and Software Bundle v2.0.1. The sample code v2.0 is part of this package. The sample code demonstrates the command definitions provided in the DLP LightCrafter DM365 Command Interface Guide.

(2) How big is the Memory on the projector? What is the maximum number of patterns that I can load to the device?

The mobile DDR memory is 128 MB. You can load 4 24-bit RGB images (or 96 1-bit images) with 608x684 resolution.

(3) Is there a programmer's guide to download?

Is it possible to increase the Memory on the projector? We would like to load 2000 images with 608x684 resolution.

Hi Jinyang,

The DLPC300 controller is capable of addressing only 128 Mb. You can load more than 96 images in Extended pattern sequence mode at the cost of reduced speed. The maximum frame rate allowed in this mode is 55.5 Hz.

To enable this mode, you have to install R205 (0 ohm) on the systems board. If you have a LightCrafter with 2.0 red sticker, this hardware modification should be there by default. In the GUI, set the dispaly mode to Pattern Sequence and manually enter the "Pattern Count". We have tried up to 900 images.

What is the frame rate required for your application?

Hi Divya,

We decide to go with HDMI mode to break a 24-bit image into 24 1-bit image. 

We would hope to have a frame rate of 2 kHz.
