DLPDLCR2000EVM: Projector/board doesnt turn on at all

Part Number: DLPDLCR2000EVM

Ordered new part from US to Singapore.

Connected it to a 5V, 3A power supply (tested with multimeter) through the DC jack provided on the board.

No response from the board, no LED lights up, projector does not turn on.

After 30s, underside of board started heating up, at which point, the power supply was turned off.

Welcome to the E2E forums, and thanks for your interest in our DLP technology.

Thanks for reaching out. It's likely that either there is a problem with the power supply, or the EVM unit you are using is defective. For starters, I recommend you run this by TI.com support so you can get a replacement model.

In the meantime, can you share what power supply you used to test the system?

Hi,

I used a 15W power supply, with variable voltage output, and I set it to output 5V (tested with a multimeter).
