I am wondering whether it is possible to use the DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2 in grayscale mode to generate an effective "luminance flicker" rate that is higher than 120 Hz. Thanks!

Hi Jen,
Welcome to TI E2E forums and thanks for showing interest in DLP technology.
I will discuss your query with the team and reach out to you soon.

Hello Jen,
Welcoem to DLP forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology. Could you please share more details about your application? Please also explain what is meant by the following :
1. Gray scale mode - Monochrome only one color - One ofthe primary color RED or Green or Blue?
2 ".luminescence flicker" - Is it frame rate similar to video display
3. Higher than 120 Hz - Do you have target for your application?
regards,
Vivek
Hi Vivek,
Sure. I work in an insect biology lab and our animals have a flicker fusion rate of ~200 Hz. So we'd like to have the projector display images at a rate comparable to ~200 Hz. The frame rate of the DLP listed is 120 Hz, but I was wondering if displaying at a grayscale color might result in an increase in this rate.
Thanks,
Jenny
Hi Jenny,
Is there is brightness and resolution requirement?
regards,
Vivek
Hello Jenny,
You have several choices which can support frame rate above 2o 0 Hz. The following are your options:
1. DLP2010 LightCrafter EVM - It can support uptp 240 Hz frame rate even with 24 bit RGB. You may have download

You may have to download latest firmware from the website for this EVM configuration. It will support upto 204 Hz.

2. DLP2010 Light Control EVM - DLP2010EVM-LC, If you run in monochorme external pattern mode you could achieve 360Hz - 8Bit pattern mode.

3. DLP3010 Light Control EVM - same as above
