TI-API: Does TI send Cancelation Notification Email when the items ordered via API were cancelled?

Part Number: TI-API

Hello,

I have a question regarding cancellation notifications.

When purchasing items through the TI web store, there are cases where orders are canceled due to reasons on TI's end, and in such cases, you receive a cancellation notification email.
I would like to confirm if you also receive this cancellation notification email when orders are cancelled,  orders which are placed via API.

Does anyone have information on this matter?

  • Hi Tomonarifujii,

Let me check and confirm later today.

    Regards,

    Faye

  • Thank you for your assistance.

Let me know when there is any update.

    Regards,

  • Hi Tomonarifujii,

I should have a response today.

    Faye

  • Hi Tomonarifujii,

The speed with which we process API orders makes it difficult to cancel an order. If you would like to request an order cancellation, please create a new case with customer support.    Important: Simply requesting a cancellation does not guarantee an order can be canceled.  There is no cancellation email sent.

    Regards,

    Faye

  • It seems that my question was unclear, so let me ask again.

What I wanted to ask is this:
In the case of orders made via the API, if an order or part of an order is canceled due to TI's circumstances, will a cancellation notification email be sent?

In the TI web store, a cancellation notification email is sent if a cancellation is made due to TI's circumstances. Therefore, I would like to confirm whether a cancellation notification email will also be sent in the case of cancellations made via the API.

    Best Regards,
    tomonari

  • Hi Tomonarifujii,

Thank you for the clarification.  For the case that you just described, that should not happen.  The API response will inform you that either TI has the part in stock for you to order and your order will be processed, or the API response will inform you that the part is not available at the time that you order.   There are also ways that you can proactively confirm if a part is available, by using the Inventory and pricing API. or the Inventory subscription API

Let me know if you need anything else or if Iam still misunderstanding your question.

    Regards,

    Faye
