TCAN4550-Q1: Crystal specification

Part Number: TCAN4550-Q1

Hi team,

1. What does ESR(Crystal ESR for load capacitance) mean? Does it load resistance RL?

2. Could you advise how to calculate CL for Crystal circuit?

3. How much is the output current of OSC2?

4. If I select 20MHz crystal, I can select <2Mbps, correct? Is there any restrictions in low bit rate mode like 1Mbps or 500kbps using 20MHz crystal?

regards,

  • Tsuji-san,

For the first 3 questions, we have an application note that is in the publishing process that will be released within the next week or so. If you email me directly I can share this document with you.

For question 4, that is correct. with a 20MHz clock, 2Mbps or less data rate will be reliable. There aren't any more restrictions based on a lower data rate. As your data rate changes, the clock pre-scaler and divider will have to be adjusted in the register configurations, but with lower data rates you have more resolution for sample points and other settings.

    Regards,

    Eric Hackett

  • Thank you.

I will send you email for draft apps note.
