Here's our schematic for sink-only TPS25750D where we have the option of an eeprom and a way of programming it per your instructions in some threads.

Chris,

I have 2 commends

1. I always recomend the TVS2200 on any VBUS part for surge and lighting protection.

2. I2CS_SCL and I2CS_SDA are not pulled up with LDO_3V3. We do this because we power up the TPS25750 from LDO_3V3 when we are in sink mode before we turn on the supply to the rest of the chip and this can cause us to draw power from other circuits. It will not impact the TPS25750, but can impact other devices on the bus if they are not Failsafe.

The rest of the schematic looks great.

Hi Chuck,

Got it, thanks. So for VBUS diode we implemented the RC snubber circuit instead, per the TPS25750 datasheet which offered this instead of the TVS diode as it suggested its more effective and less expensive. What is your take on this tradeoff?

Chris,

The RC snubber will work for most systems as a backup, I would add a footprint for the TVS diode if space allows. Sometimes it can be tucked under the connector on the back side of the board.
